My visit to VFS office in Hyderabad for UK

VFS office for UK visa is located in Banjara Hills. Banjara hills is a big area so if you don’t have the address handy you will confuse with the location like me. Many people cannot guide you as it is bit confusing.

Address is Sunil Chambers, 8-2-542/A Road No. 7 Banjara Hills, Hyderabad 500 034

To be more specific about the address it is in the lane opposite to GVK Mall. If you follow the route you will end near VFS office. It is above the More super market and opposite to Government school.

Working hours are 08:00 to 14:00 from Monday to Friday.

Some important points to be noted are

1.You have a photographer inside the VFS office. So if you have any problem with the photos which brought you can take a picture immediately.

2.There are 4 document verification counters and 2 counters where they take your thumb impressions.

3.Ireland VFS collection centre is also in the same office.

4.They may ask you to pay Rs.100 for getting sms of your passport status, Which i feel is unnecessary as we can track it online.

5.You can track online starting the next day using the number provided by them after submitting.

6. You can buy some mobile sim connections like Lyca which i feel is good. Lyca and libra are 2 connections in UK which provide good offers for calling India.(Example 1 GBP = 100 Mins to India)
You can start using your mobile phone in UK with Lyca connection which you can buy in VFS office. I suggest this is better for the business travelers.

7.It will take minimum 3-4 hours once you’re in VFS office.

8.You don’t have ample parking for vehicles so it is better to park near opposite government school.

9.There is no need to panic / frightened as the VFS people are there to help us in the process.

10.You have small HDFC bank counter .

11.If your taking infants take enough food, tell the people in counter that you have infants so that they can take care of you in a faster way.

Hope this helps you while applying for UK visa in VFS office.

This is my experince with renewal of passport with visa's in hyderbad.

I have both L1 and B1 visas to USA.I wanted to renew my passport in hyderabad. So i went to passport office near secunderbad railway station, i was told to stand in a queue which was nearly half a kilometer. After standing for 3 hours they told that the quota was over.So i decide to got to the eseva to apply passport but they told that is should got to secunderbad passport office or head post office.

I decided to goto Secunderbad post office with all the orginal certificates on 14/05/2011.In post office i payed around Rs 1000, the person verifed all the certificates and gave me a receipt for the application. The number given on the receipt was not trackble on the passport website.www.ap.nic.in/passport

After 1 month pocile verification happened and he verified and took xerox copies of all the documents once gain.

After another 1 month i got my passport.

So it is better to submit the passport application in Post Office for renewal if you have time.

These are few tips to keep in mind when you attend Visa Stamping in American Consulate/embassy in New Delhi.

.Wear formal dress ...no need of any tie and suit
.Wear shoes.
.Don't take your mobile phones with you.
.You will be verified the documents when your are in line outside consulate.
.You need show documents at one counter where they verify the documents. They just ask you some basic questions.
.Then after that you will enter the main building. You have a security check .
.You will stand in line to give your thumb impression(they take all 10 finger impressions).
.After thumb impression you will sit for your turn to meet the officer.
.Don't panic.
.Be confident while answering the questions.
.Don't tell unnecessary / unrelated answers, just answer to the point or question asked.
.If you don't know the answer just tell them what you feel realistic.
.Just answer the questions as what you wrote in the documents.Don't add anything on top of it.
.In New Delhi they give Visa to everyone in general.
